Privacy Policy

Daxureli is an editorial website. It publishes written reviews of computer games and nothing else: there is no shop, no user account system, no payment processing and no advertising marketplace operating on this domain. As a result the amount of personal data we handle is small, and this policy is short by design.

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains what happens to personal information you choose to give us through the contact form or the newsletter sign-up on daxureli.info, and what information is recorded automatically when a browser requests a page. It does not cover other websites we link to, which operate their own policies.

2. Information you give us deliberately

There are exactly two places on this site where you can submit information about yourself, and both are optional.

We do not ask for your postal address, telephone number, date of birth, payment details or any government identifier, and we would ask you not to include such details in a message to us.

3. Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard server request data: the page requested, the time of the request, an HTTP status code, the referring page where one is sent, and a browser user-agent string. IP addresses appear in these logs in truncated form and are used only to identify abuse or diagnose outages. Server logs are rotated and deleted within 30 days.

We also keep a simple aggregate count of how many times each article is requested. That count is not linked to an individual reader, contains no identifiers, and exists so we can tell which reviews readers actually finish.

4. Lawful bases for processing

• Consent — for the newsletter. You give it by entering your address and asking to join, and you may withdraw it at any time.
• Legitimate interests — for replying to correspondence sent to the editorial desk, for keeping a record of published corrections, and for maintaining secure and functioning server logs.

We do not rely on contractual necessity, because there is no contract between us: nothing on this site is sold, and no service is purchased.

5. Who else sees your information

Your message is read by the four members of the editorial desk and by nobody else. We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose reader data, and we do not operate advertising or profiling arrangements with third parties.

Two categories of service provider necessarily handle data on our behalf: the company that hosts this website, and the email provider that carries our correspondence and the digest. Both act on our instructions under written terms, and both are used solely for the purposes described above. We would disclose information beyond this only where a valid legal obligation required it.

6. Where your information is held

Our hosting and email services operate on servers located in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where any transfer outside the United Kingdom becomes necessary, it is made under safeguards recognised by UK data protection law, and the categories of data involved remain limited to those listed in section 2.

7. Your rights

If you are in the United Kingdom you have the following rights over information we hold about you, and you can exercise any of them by writing to the editorial desk at the address above.

• Access — ask for a copy of what we hold, which for most readers will be a single email address or one message thread.
• Rectification — have inaccurate details corrected.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your message or remove your address from the digest list.
• Restriction and objection — ask us to pause processing, or object to processing carried out under legitimate interests.
• Portability — receive the information you gave us in a machine-readable file.
• Withdrawal of consent — leave the newsletter at any moment, using the link at the foot of every issue.

We answer rights requests within one calendar month. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the United Kingdom's supervisory authority for data protection.

8. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to the mailbox holding reader correspondence is restricted to the four editorial members and protected by two-factor authentication. Because we hold no payment data, no passwords and no accounts, the consequences of any incident are limited to the categories of data described in section 2 — and we would tell affected readers directly if such an incident occurred.

9. Children

Daxureli publishes reviews of games carrying a range of age ratings, and the site itself is written for a general adult readership. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If our practices change — for example if we adopted a different email provider — we will update this page and change the review date at the top. Material changes affecting newsletter subscribers will also be described in the digest itself rather than published quietly.
